Like most clubs, Atletico Madrid are looking to strengthen this summer and right-back is one particular area they want to add in.

Diego Simeone is seeking a long-term replacement for Juanfran and his first choice is Barcelona’s Nelson Semedo.

However, the ongoing Antoine Griezmann saga has damaged the relationship between the two clubs and that deal may now be difficult to do. As a result, Atletico are looking at alternatives.

And according to AS, Tottenham’s Kieran Trippier is on the list. It’s been claimed Spurs are happy to sell the England right-back this summer after a disappointing year last season.

He has a contract until 2022, so Spurs don’t desperately need a sale, but AS reports the Englishman would be available for ‘just over €25m’. Atletico like the fact he’s experienced in the Champions League, so presumably, that’s a fee they wouldn’t mind paying.

Spurs already have Serge Aurier and Kyle Walker-Peters and could use the money to find a replacement if they don’t fancy either of those two.

There’s definitely a deal there to be done but the estimated fee looks a little on the low side for Tottenham.
