According to a claim in the Turkish media, Southampton are following the progress of Genclerbirligi midfielder Beray Ayberk Ozdemir.
The young central midfielder has been in good form for his club in the past couple of seasons and Haberturk claim Fenerbahce and Galatasaray are interested in the player, along with Southampton.
In the upcoming January transfer window Southampton could look to bolster their squad and it’s claimed Ozdemir is an option for the Premier League side.
Ozdemir was key for Genclerbirligi when they were promoted to the Super Lig last season. The other key player in last season’s team, Mert Cetin, joined Roma last summer and Ozdemir could also join a European club in this winter transfer window.
The 21 year old has made 10 appearances for Genclerbirligi in all competitions this season, scoring one goal.
His contract with the Ankara club will expire at the end of June 2022.
