Manchester City are again being mentioned by the Peruvian press due to their chase of a local youngster.

Back in early September, a journalist from Fox Sports claimed there were ‘very advanced’ negotiations for Kluiverth Aguillar to join Pep Guardiola’s side.

The 16 year old would be joining Manchester City in January, according to claims from reporter Peter Arévalo.

The story didn’t develop a lot in these two months, but now it’s returned to the headlines since Aguillar is about to make his first team debut for his club Allianza Lima.

Website Depor reports the teenager, ‘who is followed by Manchester City’, is about to play his first game with the professional squad.

Manchester City claims continue to be hard to believe, at least partly because the youngster wouldn’t be able to move to Europe until he turns 18 years of age.

A story to keep an eye on in the coming months.
