Southampton have submitted an offer for Bryan Mbeumo, reports Saturday’s edition of L’Equipe.

The 19 year old currently plays for Troyes, where he came through the youth system. He’s a flexible attacker, who, despite being left footed, prefers to play on the right.

He played 35 matches for the French club in Ligue 2 last season and put in some impressive statistics. Over those matches, Mbeumo, mainly playing in an attacking position on the right of midfield, scored ten goals and provided three assists.

L’Equipe reports that interest has been building in the youngster, from both England and Germany.

Offers are said to have arrived from Southampton and Wolfsburg. There’s no official confirmation on how much the Premier League and Bundesliga clubs have offered, however, L’Equipe believe both have ‘submitted a bid’ around the €7-8m level.

Schalke are also keen but haven’t done anything about their interest yet.

Mbeumo is taking his time. He hasn’t ruled out any of the options, and is currently favouring a stay in France because he believes he’ll get more game time.
