Mainz star Yunus Malli is facing an uncertain future at the Bundesliga club, with just 18 months left on his contract.

A couple of days ago, German newspaper Bild had an update on his future. It was claimed the 24-year-old has a release clause in his contract that can be activated next summer.

Malli also had the opportunity to sign for Borrusia Dortmund in January of this year, but Mainz blocked his move. The Turkish international could move to England, with interest reported from Southampton and Tottenham.

In fact, according to Scouts in Attendance, Southampton scouts were in attendance at Mainz’s last Bundesliga match against Freiburg.

Malli was in top form as he scored one and assisted twice in the match, and you’d assume he left a good impression on anyone watching.

The Mainz star has 8 goals and six assists to his name this season, and the Bundesliga club could consider selling him in January should they receive an offer significantly higher than his release clause.
