On December 20th, Calciomercato explained that Southampton are above all in the race to sign Juventus’ Matias Soulé.

The winger has been on loan at Frosinone since the summer and has managed six goals and an assist from 15 league games this season.

Southampton are in the picture to sign the 20-year-old and TV Play state he ‘can leave’ the Old Lady as early as the winter market.

Juventus would need to raise funds to provide Massimiliano Allegri with new signings next month. It would be difficult to sell important players and their focus seems to be on using some of the youngsters to make cash.

Soulé is among them and has already attracted interest from several English clubs, where Southampton are ‘seriously thinking about’ buying him in January.

The Argentina U21 international’s initial valuation was around €20m and the outlet adds it has now increased to €30m.

Juve are aiming to sell the South American to the highest bidder in the upcoming window and Russell Martin’s side are ready to start negotiations. In fact, TV Play explain that Southampton are ‘ready to pay’ €30m to sign the attacker.

It’s not clear whether Soulé would be willing to join the Championship side in the winter market.
