A little game between Arsenal players hasn’t gone very well among fans of a South American club.

Last week, the Gunners posted on their Youtube channel the latest episode of ‘What Do You Know’ series, featuring Lucas Torreira and Pablo Mari.

One of the questions asked was about clubs who have won the Copa Libertadores. Born in Uruguay, the midfielder had a clear advantage by naming sides from many countries.

Mari, on the other hand, only knew clubs from Brazil, since he’s played for Flamengo and even won the tournament last year.

So when Lucas Torreira named Argentine side Velez Sarsfield, Mari made a joke saying his teammate was making it up, saying the club ‘didn’t exist’. And some people were pretty angry about it.

Former goalkeeper José Luis Chilavert, who played for Velez Sarsfield for ten years, sent Mari a message on Twitter.

“Pablo Mari, the one that doesn’t exist is you. Velez Sarsfield are Club World Champions and champion of all international tournaments in South America. It shows that you haven’t won anything.”

Besides having 74 caps for Paraguay, Chilavert become a legend for scoring 67 goals in his career. He won the Copa Libertadores and the Intercontinental Cup for Velez Sarsfield in 1994.
