On Wednesday evening, local newspaper Ruhr Nachrichten reported Erling Braut Haaland and his adviser Mino Raiola travelled to Germany in a charter plane to hold talks with Borussia Dortmund.

This was confirmed by the striker’s employer Red Bull Salzburg and during his trip to Germany he also met RB Leipzig.

Manchester United have been credited with an interest in the prolific goalscorer over the past few months and Norwegian newspaper VG brings the latest update on their efforts in signing the 19-year-old.

It’s claimed Ole Gunnar Solskjaer made a trip to Salzburg on Friday morning to meet his compatriot. Alf-Inge Håland alos arrived in Austria for the meeting. After holding talks, the Red Devils manager returned to England.

United registered a 4-0 victory over AZ Alkmaar in the Europa League clash on Thursday, which meant the English club were not in training on Friday. This gave Solskjaer an opportunity to meet Haaland and his family to discuss a potential move to Old Trafford.

Håland Sr did speak to VG, but refused to comment on the ongoing saga around his son’s future. He said, “I hope you understand that I can’t comment on all the rumours going on now.”

United are the third club to have held talks with Haaland in less than a week, after Dortmund and Leipzig.
