Zlatan Ibrahimović was the standout player for Manchester United during the 2016/17 season.

He scored 28 goals in all competitions, which included a winner in the Community Shield and also in the EFL Cup final against Southampton.

A cruciate ligament injury in April 2017 forced the striker to spend a long spell on the sidelines and having struggled to regain his best form, he terminated his contract with the Premier League side and joined LA Galaxy in March 2018.

Ibrahimović’s current deal with LA Galaxy expires after this year. TuttoMercatoWeb claims the MLS side want to retain their star and have already offered a new deal worth €7m per year.

However, the frontman is fascinated about a return to Europe, according to the claims, and United once again get a mention.

TMW reports there was ‘another small contact with Manchester United’. It remains to be seen if the ‘small contact’ will be converted into a contract offer for Ibrahimović.

Apart from the English side, Napoli are also ‘at the window’, but a move to Inter Milan is excluded at the moment.
