Robert Lewandowski is a target for Chelsea this summer and contact ‘has already been made’ about a potential move to Stamford Bridge.

That’s according to Sky Germany, who say the Bayern Munich star is ‘currently a topic’ at the club ahead of a potentially busy summer for them.

Sky report that Blues boss Thomas Tuchel is ‘not averse’ to signing a new striker this summer, having seemingly written off Tammy Abraham as an option moving forwards.

In terms of finances, Chelsea are one of the clubs who could afford the huge price Bayern would demand for a transfer and ‘could manage’ it if they wanted to.

Signing the Polish star would see the club form a forward trio of former Bundelisga forwards alongside Timo Werner and Kai Havertz, in which Lewandowski would be the ‘cracker’.

A major issue is the fact England is not the ‘most appealing’ destination for Bayern’s record goalscorer, who has always fancied a move to Spain first and foremost.

That means Chelsea would have some convincing to do if they do make a serious move, although, at this point, him staying in Bavaria is the ‘most likely scenario’ anyway.

That doesn’t mean a move is out of the question; indeed, ‘anything is possible’ as far as Sky are concerned, and on that front, Chelsea are already working to be among the contenders.
