Having failed to impress at OGC Nice during his loan last season, Nicolas Pépé has returned to Arsenal, where he now awaits his fate.

The general consensus is that Mikel Arteta wants nothing to do with him, meaning that with just 12 months left on his contract at the Emirates, a sale could be on the cards.

Unfortunately, there aren’t too many suitors, which is why the player is being offered around, as reported by Aksam in Turkey.

Titling their article with ‘And the signing of the century, Nicolas Pépé!’, the outlet make it clear this would be a big deal for Fenerbahçe should they pull it off.

Describing the situation as a ‘flash development’, it’s pointed out that Arsenal have ‘started looking for a team’ for the Ivory Coast international, since they don’t want him around.

It’s then stated that the forward ‘was recommended’ to the Turkish side by his agent, and those in charge of the club have asked Arsenal ‘for time to evaluate the offer’.

That being said, Aksam also wrote Fenerbahçe have ‘started attempts to recruit’ the Arsenal flop, and ‘will force all economic conditions’ to make it happen.

Something to keep an eye on.
