Radu Dragusin’s decision to snub Bayern Munich in view of a transfer to Tottenham Hotspur has caused some discontent in Romania.

As the player’s home country’s media today covers the move, GSP held an interview with former national team midfielder Marcel Raducanu, who played in the Bundesliga for Borussia Dortmund.

The 69-year-old made it clear he doesn’t like to see Dragusin turning Bayern Munich down, as Tottenham are said to be at a lower level than the German giants.

“Bayern are not to be refused, I say. It’s true that, at the moment, it’s a bit of big hat for him to wear. I’ve said it before and I stand by it. They wouldn’t take him as a starter anyway,” said Raducanu.

“But he would be playing at the moment, because the South Korean Kim is away at the Asian Cup for a month and Mazraoui is at the African Cup with the Moroccan national team.

“He could have taken advantage, and if he performed, no one would take him out of the team. Bayern are at least a class above Tottenham. Not to mention the Champions League! Do you realise how much his stock was rising?”

It was the very same GSP who broke the news in Romania about Dragusin’s decision early today. The player’s agent Florin Manea gave many details of why the player decided to reject a move to the Bundesliga side and sign for Tottenham Hotspur instead.

The defender reportedly believes that Spurs are the ‘right step’ for his career, as he had the objective to play in the Premier League. So it now seems like a matter of time until Genoa and the London side confirm that deal, which should cost Ange Postecoglu’s side something north of €25m.
