Over the past 24 hours, reports have emerged left, right and centre in France that Paris Saint-Germain are keen to sign Diego Llorente, currently contracted to Leeds United but on loan at AS Roma.

That makes a potential transfer difficult, even if a some believe that Jose Mourinho wouldn’t be against letting the Spaniard go in January.

The latest seems to come from Spain, where AS have also been told that the Ligue 1 giants are keen on the Leeds loanee.

They claim Paris Saint-Germain are ‘considering the incorporation’ of the 30-year-old in their team this January, needing to bolster their defence after the serious injury to Milan Skriniar.

The ‘chosen one’ could be the Leeds player, and while there is ‘still no firm offer’ from the French side, those in charge of transfers there are starting to ‘seriously consider signing him’.

It’s pointed out that relations between Paris Saint-Germain and AS Roma are great, but with Leeds also involved, a deal is ‘not anticipated to be easy’, as the Elland Road side have the ‘final say’ whether or not his loan in Italy is cut short or not.

What helps is that Luis Enrique, their manager, likes Llorente a lot, and used him a number of times when he was the Spain national team manager.

And this is what frustrates some Italian outlets the most, because the Spanish manager was once in charge of AS Roma, which is why AS Roma Live call this potential deal a ‘sensational mugging’ from their ex.

Fans of the Serie A club have managed to appreciate the centre-back, who has ‘amazed everyone with his skills as a defender’, becoming ‘one of the most positive surprises’ since he arrived for his first loan last January.

It seems that if this goes through, we can expect some sort of outrage in Italy.
