Tottenham Hotspur appointed Fabio Paratici as their managing director of football last June.
The Italian arrived at the north London club after spending over a decade with Juventus. In his first transfer window at Spurs, Paratici looked at the Serie A market, signing Cristian Romero and Pierluigi Gollini.
Both were taken from Atalanta, with the goalkeeper joining the Premier League side on a loan deal with an option to buy. The Italian is currently acting as a back-up to the club’s first choice stopper, Hugo Lloris.
Gollini has failed to get ahead of the France international and has been restricted to only nine appearances in all competitions this season, out of which seven came when Nuno Espírito Santo was in charge.
The Portuguese coach was replaced by Antonio Conte in November and the Atalanta owned player has made only two appearances under the former Chelsea manager.
Recent reports have indicated Conte is unhappy with his compatriot and would like to cut short Gollini’s loan stay.
Tuesday’s edition of Gazzetta dello Sport has looked at these reports and quickly dismissed them.
It’s claimed the Tottenham manager’s ‘intention’ is to keep hold of Gollini at least until the end of the season.
