There appears to be some ‘beef’, if you want to call it that, between Jorginho’s agent, João Santos, and Antonio Cassano.

The latter reportedly said that any journalist who voted for the Chelsea midfielder over Lionel Messi in the Ballon d’Or should have his licence taken away, which he then claimed the player himself agreed with.

Explaining he bumped into Jorginho in Formentera, Cassano said, relayed by Football-Italia: “I told him, Jorge, can you believe the scandal if they should give you the Ballon d’Or and not to Messi? He replied that he absolutely agreed with me, Messi should always win it. Now I admire Jorginho even more. We were talking for a good 90 minutes. He’s an exceptional guy, very intelligent, humble and polite”.

Well, it appears those comments didn’t exactly sit well with his agent, as the representative hit back, relayed by Area Napoli: “Cassano says it would be a scandal for the Ballon d’Or to Jorginho? If Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo said so, I would respect their word. They have won so much that should buy another house to keep the trophies.

“Cassano is perhaps frustrated because he hasn’t won anything in his career. Maybe he would have liked to win some important personal recognition. His words are ridiculous. He just shows frustration”.

Now, we all know what the Italian player is like, and is never one to hold back when confronted, and, when returning on Bobo TV on Twitch with Christian Vieri, the former Milan player decided to have small rant aimed at the Italy international’s agent.

He said: “In my life, with all the disasters that I have done, I have played in the strongest teams in the world: Real Madrid, Milan and Inter. I was a phenomenon, only my head didn’t help me. I’m not frustrated, I don’t miss anything in life. I’m rich and famous. Next time you talk about Cassano, rinse your mouth out”.

Well, as you can see, Cassano took that really well, and we’ll have to wait and see whether we get a reply from Jorginho, who might want to confirm the alleged conversation he had with the former player.

And if his role at Chelsea under Thomas Tuchel wasn’t clear, the midfielder has played in all four games this season already, missing just two minutes of Premier League football.
