Espanyol are unaware of any interest from Everton in midfielder Marc Roca despite reports linking the Blues to the midfielder.
Rumours from England claimed that Everton boss Carlo Ancelotti is a fan of the midfielder and was looking to bring him to Goodison Park in the summer.
It was claimed the Italian had identified the 23-year-old, who has two goals and three assists in 33 games this season, as a potential target, with it known Everton will be on the hunt for a new central midfielder in the summer transfer window.
The rumour came out of the blue, catching many by surprise, and it seems those in charge at Espanyol can be included in that.
According to Grada 3, nobody at Espanyol is aware of any interest from Everton, be that from the club itself or via an intermediary.
Grada claim there is nobody showing interest in the midfielder at this moment in time, with no bid or ‘survey’ being made.
That would suggest that talks of Everton’s interest in the midfielder may be a little bit wide of the mark at this moment in time.
It would be strange if the Toffees are genuinely interested and Espanyol had no idea about it as it’s rare that these things aren’t leaked or picked up on.
There’s every chance that Roca is on a list of potential signings, he certainly fits into the mould of player Marcel Brands and his team will be looking at, but it seems that interest is nowhere near becoming anything other than that at this moment in time.
In fact, hunt down where the reports come from and it is in fact simply a piece that names Roca as a potential target based on his data, meaning we can put this one down to crossed wires and move on.
