Tottenham Hotspur manager Antonio Conte has ‘repaired the relationship’ with Juventus president Andrea Agnelli, potentially paving the way for a return to the club.

That’s according to Gazzetta dello Sport, who cover the feasibility of Conte leaving Tottenham for Juventus at the end of the season.

The newspaper explains that while the present is focused on Massimiliano Allegri and Juventus are hopeful, he can turn things around this season, assessments will be made at the end of the season.

The failure to qualify for the Champions League knockout stages will weigh heavily in those assessments and Juventus are already starting to think about alternative plans.

The ‘most intriguing’ idea is a return of Conte, the man who started the ‘legendary cycle’ of nine championships and instilled an idea of ‘the Bianconero DNA’ in the player and the club.

The idea of a return is based on the fact that the Tottenham manager has ‘repaired the relationship’ with Agnelli, which had been broken in recent years.

Juventus want to rebuild the ‘Juve mentality’ and Conte would be the ‘best possible guarantee’ to help them to do that.

But it is not only a question of spirit, but theare is also a belief that Conte is an ‘exceptional and quick team builder’ as well as a proven winner.

Not that Juventus’ squad would need to be overhauled as the current group could ‘largely adapt’ to Conte’s preferred 3-5-2, even issue players like Adrien Rabiot who Conte wanted at Tottenham.

Indeed, Juventus have been keeping a close eye on how former players Dejan Kulusevski and Rodrigo Bentancur have been ‘reborn’ at Tottenham under Conte’s leadership and they want the same for their current players.

But what about Conte? He ‘remains focused’ on Tottenham but his contract expires at the end of the season and is yet to be worked on. The feeling is that any decision will be made much later this year.

That’s enough to keep the dreams of Juventus fans alive, with their club very much thinking about a return at this point.
