After turning the Chelsea squad upside down and going through a number of managers, Todd Boehly had to give someone a chance to turn things around at Stamford Bridge, with that task handed to Mauricio Pochettino.

While this season has been poor in the league, the Blues did reach the EFL Cup final and can still win the FA Cup, which has become their main aim for the campaign.

Results have started to go their way of late, and Malo Gusto was happy to discuss all things Chelsea while on international duty with the France U21 squad, as he sat down with Eurosport for a chat.

Asked about how things were going at Chelsea, the right-back, who has become an important part of Pochettino’s plans in Reece James’ absence, was very upbeat.

He said: “Really well. There’s a lot of French people, but even the club is great and has done everything so that I can really get on with things. Honestly, I’m really happy with my choice.”

The defender then revealed that two Chelsea players in particular have been there for him when he needed them, with those being Thiago Silva, who has given him a lot of help tactically, and the other Raheem Sterling on a more personal level.

As for the poor run of results earlier on in the season, Gusto believes the changes and the age of the squad may have had something to do with it.

He added: “We’re a young team. We know it’s taken a bit of time to gel. Now we’re working daily to create a united group. We know it’s been a bit better over the past few games, so we’re trying to keep that going.”
