Galatasaray’s chase for Rangers fullback Rıdvan Yılmaz has turned into a long January saga, and the Turkish side still haven’t given up on the transfer.
Earlier today, we’ve seen reports claiming there’s insistence on a deal with the Ibrox club, who demand €4.5m for the sale.
An update is now brought by journalist Gokmen Ozcan, who claims Rangers and Besiktas, the club they bought him from, actually have some type of agreement regarding Yılmaz’s next transfer.
That’s a way to give the Istanbul side a chance of matching that offer, and then let the player make the decision of where he wants to go next.
What’s interesting is that, according to Ozcan, Yılmaz doesn’t want to leave. He’s keen on staying with Rangers until the end of the season, and that may be another reason for the talks to be stalled.
Even though the Turkish transfer window closes next week, the Ibrox side are not expected to sell players after today’s deadline.
