Rangers have made a €3m offer for Sekou Gassama, according to claims from Italy on Thursday afternoon.
Steven Gerrard’s side are said to have made their move for the Real Valladolid owned player as they look to beat competition from elsewhere. Hertha Berlin are also presented as being keen, so it’s going to be a difficult battle for Rangers.
Gassama is 25 years of age and plays as an out and out striker. After being signed by Valladolid in January he was sent straight on loan to CF Fuenlabrada in Spain’s second tier. He’s scored nine goals and added one assist in 19 LaLiga2 matches this season, that’s across matches for CF Fuenlabrada and previous club UD Almeria.
Gassama is represented by Juanma Lopez, who has a long list of clients including Alvaro Morata and Dani Olmo. He mainly represents Spaniards, so the information may be being edged to Italy to see if there’s any interest from clubs there.
Gerrard and Rangers are likely to have several strikers on their agenda, making sure they line up a replacement for when Alfredo Morelos leaves the club.
