Earlier today, we covered a claim from TuttoMercatoWeb that Newcastle United like Radu Drăgușin ‘a lot’. It was also stated Genoa could find it difficult to reject big offers for him in the winter market.

The centre-back initially moved to the Serie A side on loan from Juventus in 2022 and his stay there was made permanent earlier this year.

He has been a regular at Genoa and his form has seen him attract the attention of a few clubs in recent months. La Voce Rossoblu state the ‘interest has materialised’ in the 21-year-old from Newcastle and AC Milan.

This would certainly please the Italian club, to earn big from the defender’s sale. However, that option, at least in the next window, is not on the table because Genoa haven’t yet given a green signal to the interested parties.

It’s explained that ‘barring sensational twists’, the player desired by Newcastle is expected to finish the season at Genoa.

The report adds Genoa will evaluate the possibility of cashing in from the sales of both the Romania international and Albert Guðmundsson next summer. They are aiming to collect no less than €60m, likely for the duo.

Eddie Howe and his side would therefore have to look elsewhere if they wish to sign a centre-back next month.
