Tottenham Hotspur’s Giovani Lo Celso is currently training under Ange Postecoglou orders after spending the last 18 months on loan at Villarreal.

Estadio Deportivo state the midfielder is one of the most in demand players as he’s attracted interest from Napoli, Real Betis and Barcelona. It’s claimed Tottenham’s €25m demand has scared off some clubs.

With regards to a return to Real Betis, the report states the recent contact excites the 27-year-old but a deal remains almost impossible.

The Argentina international has ‘two real future options’; to continue at Spurs or move to Barcelona.

It’s stated Postecoglou is ‘trying to convince’ Lo Celso to continue at the club and has informed those above him that he prefers the Argentine to the likes of Pierre-Emile Højbjerg and Tanguy Ndombélé.

ED explain that the only option that ‘excites’ the player, if there’s a transfer, is to join Barcelona.

It’s claimed the contacts between Barca sporting director Mateu Alemany and Lo Celso’s agent have ‘increased in recent days’. Xavi Hernández ‘loves’ the Tottenham player and he’s his ‘favourite’ target for the midfield.

The Barca manager believes he has several options on the wings and needs a left-footed player who can operate in the middle or as an attacking midfielder. Lo Celso fits the bill and ED say his signing ‘could definitely get within the range’ of the Camp Nou side.

Postecoglou wants the South American to stay at Tottenham while Xavi is keen to have him at Barca.

The website states ‘everything depends on him’, meaning Lo Celso has to make a decision on his future.
