Manchester City’s partnership with Sporting got some attention this summer when the clubs tried to sign Thiago Almada from Velez Sarsfield.
The Premier League side’s intention was to buy the Argentine player and loan him out to the Lions. That would mark the start of a deal between the two clubs which has been agreed earlier this year.
Now although the move collapsed, there’s still a chance the two clubs could work together this summer, according to a report from newspaper A Bola today.
The outlet says there’s a ‘possibility’ that Manchester City could loan Sporting some players who are not in Pep Guardiola’s plans for the season.
The idea would be do to something similar to the loans to Girona, who received several players from the Premier League side in the past few years.
Sporting are short of money this summer, so they see it as a great time to get a few Manchester City player with no cost.
