On Monday, Wales Online published a story saying Swansea City would be planning an ‘audacious’ move to sign Bayern Munich midfielder Renato Sanches.

And it seems the sources for this story are not only Welsh. Because today, Portuguese newspaper O Jogo confirm the information.

The outlet gives credits to Wales Online and say they’ve now confirmed it with their own sources, as Swansea are really looking to sign the player on a one year loan deal.

Bayern Munich reportedly understand the midfielder needs more game time, and that’s why they prefer to let him go on a loan instead of a permanent sale.

AC Milan were leading the race, and had the player’s will on their side, but failed to complete the transfer due to a lack of agreement with Bayern.

That’s what puts Swansea City in front for now. O Jogo gives much importance to the fact that Paul Clement was Carlo Ancelotti’s assistant at Bayern and knows Sanches very well.

According to the newspaper, all Swansea need to do is find an agreement with Bayern.

They say the player would have a ‘guaranteed’ starting spot in the team due to Gylfi Sigurðsson’s transfer to Everton.
