if there’s one thing Liverpool fans can all agree on when they’re not trawling through old pictures of Mercedes V-Class vans to see if a grainy car pictured at Liverpool airport means Virgil Van Dijk is on his way to Anfield, it’s that Mamadou Sakho is on his way out.

Not exactly a Jürgen Klopp favourite, the France international needs to find himself a new club, but the Reds’ asking price is preventing that for now.

A six-month loan to Crystal Palace last season certainly showed he is still a very capable defender, and that’s why there’s still a couple of clubs after him, including the Eagles.

According to France Football, both the London club and Leicester City are after the 27-year-old, with the former of the two already placing a bid for the Liverpool defender.

The French magazine claim Frank de Boer’s side have recently bid €28m for Sakho, but they could face competition from the Foxes, who are said to have contacted the former Paris Saint-Germain captain to see if he would be interested.

The article doesn’t state whether or not the bid was accepted or refused, nor does it reveal if the French centre-back would be interested in a move to King Power Stadium, so that means we have to wait and see what happens.
