Following the many rumours saying that Portuguese manager Paulo Sousa is one of the favourites to replace Mark Hughes at Southampton, outlet Notícias ao Minuto brings an interesting update on the case this week.

According to the website, Paulo Sousa is indeed very interested in taking charge of a Premier League club, and that’s the reason why he’s actually rejected other offers he’s recently had.

Notícias ao Minuto writes that the manager wants to ‘keep the door open’ to a job in England, and plans to keep himself calm until an offer from the Premier League arrives.

It’s explained that, according to their own information, Sousa will be the next Portuguese manager in England if he gets his own way.

Notícias ao Minuto references the Southampton links which have grown over the past few days, but they say other English clubs are also interested in appointing the 48 year old.
