Leeds United’s hopes of signing AZ Alkmaar’s Kerkez Milos this summer may have been handed a boost as his father, who also acts as his agent, has admitted he would send him to England if given the choice.

He’s been speaking to M4Sport about his son’s career so far and his rise this season, which has seen him linked with clubs all around Europe.

Kerkez has established himself as the first choice left-back at Alkmaar this season and impressed, with five goals and eight assists in 47 games in all competitions to date.

That’s led to interest in him ahead of the summer, with Leeds one of the clubs thought to be interested in his signature.

A report in February stated that they were interested in the 19-year-old, with it later reported that their efforts was causing issues for his other suitors.

Well, Leeds’ hopes of beating the competition to his signature may have now been handed a major boost, with his father and agent, Sebastijan Kerkez, insisting he would advise a transfer to England.

“We want something a little different, I would prefer England, and Milos would prefer Spain,” he said.

“I think he is a tough player and England would be good for him from that point of view, but he prefers to support the Spanish, but we will see.

“We only have rudimentary conversations with the clubs, how he could play there, what is expected of him, things like that, just a normal conversation, we are not talking about a contract with anyone yet.

“Benfica would be great for him, I talked to them, but I hear them and 10 other teams as well. We want to select one or two teams and fix everything with them, but I’ll say it again, we’re very happy here too.”
