Despite talks breaking down between Espanyol and Tottenham for the permanent transfer of Pau Lopez, the player doesn’t appear to have ruled a move out.

Having already made it clear he’s ready and willing to accept whatever happens, Pau has again been speaking to the Spanish media. The country’s U21 goalkeeper talked to Marca, and the Spanish newspaper asked him what happens now.

“Until June 30th I’m a Tottenham player,” said Pau. “I don’t think too much about my future, I want to enjoy the national squad after an enjoyable but also complicated year. I come to add to this team, hopefully make a good European championship. I do not think about it too much.”

Pau could have ruled out a Tottenham stay there and then, and made it clear he’s going back to Espanyol, but the situation was once again left open. The goalkeeper also explained it has always been his dream to live in England, he’s enjoyed himself at Spurs.

At the very least there’s clearly still some hope an agreement can be found, and maybe Pau is publicly keeping his options open because he’s optimistic that will be the case.
