On Monday evening, we covered claims from Portugal that Sporting’s Matheus Nunes has finally agreed to sign for Wolves this summer.

The long running saga looks like it’s set to have a happy ending for the Premier League club, and Bruno Lage has played a big part in the deal.

Tuesday’s edition of A Bola reports the Wolves manager has convinced Nunes of the project on offer. He wants to pair the midfielder with Ruben Neves and aims to qualify for European competitions.

A Bola report their information indicates Nunes will be in England today so he can begin the formalities of signing for Wolves, and it’s explained the club were rushed into a new move after West Ham made an attempt last week.

The figures for the deal are put at €45m plus a further €5m in potential bonus payments. That had always been the amount Sporting were looking for, and it was long thought that Wolves agreed to that value.

Wolves’ issue was finding the money and then convincing the player, something they’ve now managed to do.

Sporting will receive 10% of the value of a future transfer, but only of any amount over €45m.
