Last summer, Wolverhampton Wanderers signed Leander Dendoncker on a season-long loan deal from Anerlecht and the deal will be made permanent next summer.

The Belgium international can play as a defender or midfielder, but his versatility hasn’t really been of use for the Premier League outfit since he has made only two appearances in the league.

According to Fox Sports Italy, the 23-year-old wants to leave Molineux Stadium in January and AS Roma are looking at the option of signing him in the ongoing transfer window.

The Serie A outfit’s sporting director, Monchi likes the player’s characteristics, which are similar to the Giallorossi midfielder Steven Nzonzi.

His ability to play in the defence can be an added bonus for Roma.

Roma are looking at the option of taking Dendoncker on a loan deal with a view to buy for €15m and it’s explained the Jupiler Pro League outfit are ready to sit down for talks Dendoncker, following which the two clubs can start ‘real negotiations’.

His agent earlier admitted the unhappy Wolves player is ‘evaluating different options’, while stressed the importance of making the right decision.
