Antony is keen to make a move to Manchester United and is angered by Ajax’s decision to turn down a €80m made by the Premier League side on Thursday.
As explained by De Telegraaf, the 22-year-old arrived at the club’s training facilities on Friday, but didn’t train with the squad, and the same happened on Saturday.
That’s because the Brazil international wants the Eredivisie winners’ leaders to ‘enter into a conversation’ with Manchester United over his transfer.
Ajax, for now, refuse.
In principle, the Amsterdam club don’t want to part ways with the winger and certainly for not less than €100m. Due to this, Alfred Schreuder has picked Steven Berghuis in place of the star for today’s clash against Sparta Rotterdam.
Antony could be sidelined until the window closes and then have to put the disappointment of a failed move to Manchester United behind him.
At the same time, Ajax receiving an offer from the Red Devils which they cannot refuse ‘remains realistic’, especially if Erik ten Hag’s side suffer a defeat to Liverpool on Monday.
Earlier on Sunday, we covered a claim made by GOAL Brasil that Manchester United are set to make an improved offer to Ajax, in the next few hours, to sign the South American. If that happens, then the Amsterdam club will have a decision to make.
