Celtic’s Oh Hyeon-gyu’s playing time has been limited since he joined Brendan Rodgers’ side from Suwon Samsung Bluewings in January 2023.

The striker has clocked in 1,313 minutes from 47 games for Celtic, scoring 12 goals in the process, of which five are from the recently concluded season.

According to Het Belang van Limburg, KRC Genk have the Celtic player on top of their wish list for the summer window.

The Belgian club are ready to open their door for the 23-year-old, and HBVL explain that they have made an initial offer to Brendan Rodgers’ side, without mentioning the details of their proposal.

Oh Hyeon-gyu was restricted to only two appearances for Celtic this year. The report says he ‘wants to revive his career’ and therefore, the South Korea international is keen on joining the Jupiler Pro League side in the upcoming window.

The frontman’s deal lasts until 2028, and the newspaper makes no mention on whether Celtic are ready to let him leave. Genk are aiming to close the deal as quickly as possible, and with Oh Hyeon-gyu wanting a transfer, the Scottish Premiership champions have a decision to make.
