While he never played regularly at Liverpool, there’s no denying that Divock Origi had an impact on the Reds under Jürgen Klopp.

The Belgian might have watched Sadio Mané, Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah more often than not from the bench, but when he was picked by the German manager, he often repaid that faith with important goals, both in the Premier League and the Champions League.

However, with a World Cup around the corner and a Belgium squad to try and get into, it was time for the forward to leave Liverpool and seek regular football.

With his contract at Anfield expiring in two weeks time, his exit has already been officially announced by the Reds, but his next club remains something of a mystery, at least for now.

While it’s not 100% certain just yet, the likeliest outcome is that he signs for Milan in Italy, where he will have a chance to feature regularly under Stefano Pioli.

In fact, TuttoMercatoWeb are reporting he ‘will arrive at the beginning of next week’ in the Italian city, where he will ‘undergo the medical and then sign a three-year deal’ with the Serie A club.

During his time at Liverpool, the 27-year-old scored 41 goals and assisted another 18 in 175 appearances in all competitions.
