The entire sports media in Portugal now agrees: Tobias Figueiredo is moving to Nottingham Forest on a loan deal until the end of the season, which maybe should become a permanent move.
Newspapers A Bola, O Jogo and Record are all confirming the transfer this morning, with the latter claiming the player has already travelled to England and should train with the squad today.
All the papers are saying that Tobias is moving on a loan deal until the end of the season, with a clause to be bought for €2.3m before the end of the spell.
Question is: will it be obligatory? Record claims it will, O Jogo says it’s just an option, and A Bola writes it ‘may be’ compulsory.
As covered by us earlier today, Record claims that Forest will be paying €200k for the spell, making the total deal reach the €2.5m figures.
Another detail we spotted is that both O Jogo and Record claim that the purchase option will be to get 80% of the player. That’s how they put it, even though we all know that third party ownership is not allowed in England, so Sporting couldn’t be keeping 20% of the player.
They’ve probably mistaken this as percentage of a future sale, which would make more sense.
With still a few differences here and there, these details should all be more clear once the contract is signed. The expectation is that Figueiredo is announced today.
