Gareth Bale to Tottenham Hotspur is within touching distance.

The Real Madrid player is on the verge of returning to his former club and leaving his Zinedine Zidane troubles behind him.

Aware there’s little point staying with Los Blancos any longer, the Welshman has accepted his fate and decided Spurs is the best way to get himself back on a football pitch.

Whilst the Spanish media have already started sending snipes to the Welshman, it’s a move Madrid are happy with.

All parties involved have been looking for a solution for some time, and the combination of Jose Mourinho, who has repeatedly made clear what a fan he is of the player, and Tottenham is too much to resist.

The move is now so close that El Chiringuito spies have spotted Bale arriving at Barajas airport in Madrid, to take a flight, via private jet you’d assume, to complete the formalities of the transfer.

There’s no clarity on whether Sergip Reguilon will be on the same flight.
