West Ham have a deal ‘on track’ for Barcelona forward Martin Braithwaite but could be scuppered by Tottenham should Harry Kane leave.

That’s according to Sport, who say the striker has made it clear the Hammers ‘is not his preferred option’ this summer.

The newspaper explains that Kane’s possible departure from Tottenham would open the door for Spurs to sign two strikers to cover his departure.

Martin Braithwaite is on the shortlist to replace him, and although there are numerous players on that list, Braithwaite is ‘among the favourites’.

Barcelona are clear that getting rid of the Danish international is a ‘priority’, and they want to speed up the operation.

They have a deal in place with West Ham, who have long been linked with a move and have put a ‘firm offer’ on the table for the player.

He, though, has asked for extra time as the option of Tottenham ‘appeals to him’ much more than that of West Ham.

It all depends on Kane, then. If he leaves, Braithwaite could end up at Spurs; if not, it will likely be West Ham instead.
