Werder Bremen striker Niclas Füllkrug is likely to move to the Premier League this summer, but Everton and West Ham are currently ‘out of the question’ for him.

That’s according to SportBILD, who say the striker isn’t interested in either club as he does not consider them as ambitious enough.

The newspaper explains that the current Bundesliga top goal scorer has created something of a transfer dilemma for himself as he has found his best form too late in his career.

It means that with a transfer value of at least €20m he is proving to be ‘too much’ for clubs in the Bundesliga who may have been interested in him.

The player has also made it clear he wants to go to an ‘ambitious’ club but the likes of Dortmund, Bayer Leverkusen and Leipzig don’t have any room for him and so a move to England will be his ‘most realistic’ option.

That has become more likely after he recently changed agents and both Everton and West Ham have been named as potential suitors since the January transfer window.

Both of those clubs could ‘significa’ntly increase’ his currently €2.5m a year salary, but he sees them as ‘lurching middle class’ teams and so a move to either side is ‘currently out of the question’.

Whether that’s a blow for Everton or West Ham is up for debate.

Both do need strikers, but the reality is that €20m or more for a striker who turned 30 last year and has hardly been prolific in Germany prior to this season was probably not going to be a smart choice this summer.
