Fanatik claim West Bromwich Albion manager Alan Pardew has instructed the Premier League side not to sign Fenerbahçe midfielder Josef de Souza.

Last week it was reported West Brom no longer wanted to sign Souza after Tony Pulis left the club, and it seems like Pardew has pulled the plug on a possible deal.

The Turkish newspaper say following the departure of Pulis, Pardew wants a different style of football at West Brom, so it’s unlikely he will want to bring in another defensive midfielder in the next window.

The West Brom boss already has Gareth Barry, Jake Livermore, Gregorz Krychoiwak and Claudio Jacob in his squad, so bringing in Souza wouldn’t make sense.

West Brom tried to sign Souza in the last window, then the English side instead brought in Krychowiak on loan from Paris Saint Germain. The Baggies have again been linked with Souza in recent weeks, but it now looks like the player will remain in Turkey.
