On Monday, we relayed an article from Italy claiming that Tottenham had made a contract offer to Dusan Vlahovic.

That was confirmed by other newspapers on Tuesday, and now the same website, Viola News, are claiming new developments in the battle between Spurs and Atlético Madrid for the player.

The Spaniards, who are also very keen on the Serbian and need a striker, are reportedly ‘ready to offer €70m + €5m in bonuses to secure the services’ of the Fiorentina star.

Not only that, but they have ‘matched’ the contract offer Tottenham put forward, meaning a five-year deal worth €5m/year + €1m in bonus and a €2m signing on fee.

Despite all this, Viola News make it clear ‘Paratici doesn’t give up’, suggesting he isn’t ready to see Vlahovic go to Madrid without at least putting up a fight.

We’ll have to see what comes of this, but the ball is now in Tottenham’s court, and their next move could be crucial.
