Olympiacos and Nottingham Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis has confirmed that he’s tested positive for Coronavirus.
In a statement on Instagram, as covered by Sdna, the 52 year old said he’s currently well and taking all the necessary precautions to help himself get back to health and to minimise the risk to those around him.
Marinakis also advised that people should rest and he wishes all the best to those currently infected.
In recent days, the pandemic has been widely covered in Greece as the Thursday’s Europa League game between Olympiacos and Wolverhampton Wanderers will be played in an empty Georgios Karaiskakis stadium.
There’s no suggestion yet that Marinakis’s situation will have any further impact on the match, although the general situation in Greece is building.
There are currently 89 people in Greece who have tested positive for Coronavirus. Several European countries have seen huge rises in their confirmed cases already this week, and it’s possible similar could happen in Greece.
