Nottingham Forest haven’t given up in their pursuit of PSV Eindhoven’s Ibrahim Sangaré.

The midfielder reportedly has a €37.5m release clause and the Tricky Trees’ offer of €34m plus bonuses was rejected by the Eredivisie side.

That hasn’t put off Nottingham Forest and Eindhovens Dagblad reporter Rik Elfrink claims they ‘still want to do everything possible’ to get the deal over the line.

He claims Steve Cooper’s side ‘want to pay even more’, maybe even match the figure mentioned in the 25-year-old’s clause. In that case, it’ll be down to the player to make a decision on his future.

The Dutch club qualified for the Champions League group stage by overcoming Rangers on Wednesday. The Ivory Coast international can play in Europe’s elite club competition if he continues at PSV, which he cannot achieve if he joins the Tricky Trees.

Elfrink again took to Twitter to state the midfielder ‘is in doubt’ on whether to stay at the Eredivisie side or make a switch to the Premier League.

Nottingham Forest will have to convince Sangaré, in order to have a chance to secure his services on deadline day.
