As we’re still to see some updates on Nottingham Forest’s chase for Fluminense defender Nino, it seems there’s now some competition for his signing.

German outlet Sport1 reports that Eintracht Frankfurt are also interested in signing the centre-back in the winter window.

Their story doesn’t make it sound like the Bundesliga side already took action for the transfer, as it seems they’re only analysing the possibility so far.

Sport1 even mention reports which said there’s an agreement for Nino to join Nottingham Forest, and asks whether Frankfurt will be able to stop that.

The rumours linking the defender with a City Ground move have been very quiet lately, and there’s actually a good reason for that.

Fluminense are ready to play in the Club World Cup, a tournament which is of huge important for Brazilian sides, and they certainly don’t want that kind of gossip drawing too much attention.

That’s why it’s likely that we’ll get to see more news about Nino and others once they’re done with that tournament, where they’ll possibly face Manchester City in the final.
