Nottingham Forest have emerged as a new contender to sign Tottenham Hotspur’s Tanguy Ndombélé, according to RMC Sport.

The midfielder returned to Spurs after spending last season on loan at Napoli and his future at the north London club ‘seems blocked’.

It’s claimed the 26-year-old is left out of Tottenham’s plans and Nottingham Forest have now positioned themselves to sign him.

The website states the Tricky Trees are offering to take the Frenchman on a loan deal with a mandatory purchase option. This formula is unlikely to convince Spurs.

Apart from Steve Cooper’s side, Galatasaray, Fenerbahçe and Rennes are showing interest in the former Lyon man. Ange Postecoglou’s side, for their part, are ready to sell him and are demanding a fee between €15m and €20m.

Rennes had asked about Ndombélé a few weeks ago but the report claims they don’t have the resources to sign him. He won’t be joining Fenerbahçe either despite their interest.

RMC Sport add Galatasaray are ‘set to welcome’ the midfielder but make no mention of the agreement with Tottenham.

The report was covered by Fabrice Hawkins. He took to Twitter to add Tottenham have rejected Fenerbahçe’s approach for Ndombélé and ‘should do the same’ with Nottingham Forest.

With Tottenham keen to sell Ndombélé, Cooper’s side would have to come up with a new formula to convince their Premier League rivals.
