Back in January, Nottingham Forest made an offer to sign Santos youngster Angelo.

The Tricky Trees offered €1m for a loan, and in case they stayed in the Premier League at the end of the season, he would automatically be bought for €18m.

Santos didn’t accept that at the time, and despite recent reports about their need to make big sales, Brazilian outlet Lance now reports that Nottingham Forest may no longer be interested.

Angelo has been having ups and downs recently. The 18-year-old has even stayed on the bench, and that isn’t a great sign for the clubs who follow him.

Lance writes that Nottingham Forest acknowledge the player’s potential and ‘don’t totally close doors’ for the teenager, as they keep him ‘on their radar’. However, the initial interest has ‘cooled down’.

Once again, it’s claimed that Santos live in a delicate financial situation and look for a big summer sale. The biggest candidate to leave now is Marcos Leonardo, who’s been in better form.

So in case Nottingham Forest reignite their interest in Angelo, they may actually have the chance to sign him for less than in January.
