Tottenham Hotspur’s hope of finishing the season in the top four suffered a blow after their defeat to Chelsea on Thursday. Spurs are currently fifth in the table, trailing fourth placed Aston Villa by seven points, with a game in hand.
Giovani Lo Celso came off the bench late against the Blues and created three chances within a few minutes. A section of Spurs fans were impressed with his cameo and some even questioned Ange Postecoglou’s decision not to start him.
Estadio Deportivo and Sport point this out when they discuss the 28-year-old’s future at Tottenham.
Estadio Deportivo state Lo Celso is ‘not satisfied’ with his current role under Postecoglou and ‘has decided to change’ clubs in the summer window.
Having opened the door for the transfer, it’s claimed ‘many teams’ are working to find out about his situation. This includes his former club Real Betis, and the Spurs midfielder still maintains contact with some of their leaders.
Lo Celso also had a loan spell at Villarreal and therefore, a return to La Liga ‘can’t be ruled out’ in the next window.
Sport state Barcelona have also been wanting the South American in recent months. Due to his situation at Tottenham, they claim it ‘would not be unreasonable’ for Lo Celso to think about an exit after this season, even though his deal lasts until 2025.
