On Tuesday, reports from Spain said Chelsea have made a second attempt to sign Jules Kounde from Sevilla.

It was claimed the Blues put a higher amount on the table, and since that reportedly matched the price demanded by the La Liga side, Sport said the defender was now ‘one step away’ from completing his transfer to the Stamford Bridge.

It turns out, however, that’s only one voice from the Catalan media speaking, because according to Mundo Deportivo, there’s still a long way until the agreement is reached.

The outlet heard from their sources that ‘there’s no deal’ between Sevilla and Chelsea for now, despite those claims talking about a €60m transfer. The story only writes that the Blues are ‘pressing’ to get the signing done, but with no success yet.

Mundo Deportivo also highlight the interest from Barcelona, especially because Kounde has already shown his desire to move to the Camp Nou. That’s why Sevilla are said to still be waiting for an offer from the Catalan side before closing a deal with Chelsea or anyone else.
