Already keen on Paris Saint-Germain’s Stanley N’Soki last summer, letting the French club know they’d ‘like to sign him’, Newcastle United haven’t given up on the young defender.

Paris United claim as much on Tuesday afternoon, stating the Magpies, alongside Dortmund, Lille and Marseille, are ‘very interested’ in signing the left-back.

Used 12 times in the league by Thomas Tuchel this season, N’Soki saw most of his potential play time blocked by the arrival of Juan Bernat and Layvin Kurzawa’s return from injury towards the back end of the campaign.

With two players already in the role, it’s claimed Paris Saint-Germain ‘won’t keep’ the youngster should a ‘substantial offer’ be made for his services.

No amount is given, but N’Soki did sign a new contract with the Ligue 1 champions back in September 2018, technically meant to keep him around until 2021.

Left-back has been a problem for Rafa Benitez this season, forced to use Matt Ritchie in the role for the majority of the campaign despite signing Antonio Barreca on loan from Monaco in January.

The Italian only played four minutes of football under the Spaniard, suggesting he is unlikely to be kept around despite Newcastle having an option to do so.

Signing a young and talented player like N’Soki would certainly help towards solving the issue, and if they can guarantee him regular first-team football, it could be a viable and enticing option for the 20-year-old.
