Sandro Tonali’s move from AC Milan to Newcastle United may be about to be done, but there are still some differences to be sorted between the clubs.

Italian outlet TuttoMercatoWeb now features a story claiming Rossoneri may actually want more money than initially expected.

It’s said that Newcastle’s first attempt had been for a €70m deal. That was ‘not enough to give the green light’.

That’s when the Magpies made the ‘latest and decisive raise’ by placing an offer worth €80m, plus ‘easily’ achievable bonuses to make it reach €85m. The harder bonuses could make that €90m.

That now seems to be enough, because TuttoMercatoWeb already points out that will be enough to ‘allow Milan to restructure the team’ in the coming years.

The outlet also brings some details on the personal agreement between Newcastle and Tonali. It’s said the ‘basis’ is for an €8m yearly net salary, plus €2m in eventual bonuses, which is an increase on the €7.5m or so that were previously reported.

That signing is costing the Magpies a lot, and probably more than first expected, but the process seems to be moving forward very quickly.

In fact, Gianluca Di Marzio has taken to Twitter to provide another update, explaining that a ‘final meeting’ is set to take place ‘later today’ to reach the ‘final agreement’ between the two clubs.
