Either Newcastle are really, and we mean REALLY, interested in François Kamano or one of their scouts is a huge Bordeaux fan.

Already travelling to watch the Ligue 1 side at the weekend, a representative from St James’ Park was sent out again to supervise the forward and their team midweek, this time in their Europa League clash against Slavia Prague, according to Girondins4Ever.

Needing a win to keep their hopes of staying in the competition alive, Bordeaux duly delivered by walking away with a 2-0 win, and that was without Kamano, who was left on the bench.

Goals from centre-back Jules Koundé and former Lille forward Nicolas de Préville sealed the victory, as the Guinea international came on in the 71st minute to help his side see off the rest of the game.

This is already the third trip to see Bordeaux from a Newcastle scout this month (that we know of), which would suggest they are planning something for January, as Rafa Benitez will be eager to reinforce his side to help continue their recent good form.

The new owners at the Ligue 1 side have dismissed a potential Kamano departure in the coming months, but we all know money talks, and the lure of the Premier League is always there, especially for exciting 22-year-old forwards.

They just need to be careful they don’t do it at the wrong time, which was the case for Florian Thauvin.
