Two days ago, Gazzetta dello Sport stated Juventus’ Federico Chiesa is in the ‘thoughts’ of Newcastle United and they continue to monitor his situation closely.

Having finished fourth last season, the Magpies want to further improve their performances in the Premier League next season. The 25-year-old’s signing could be an ‘important step’ for them to achieve this goal.

That’s according to Tutto Juve, who state Newcastle’s ambition to sign the forward shows their desire to build a competitive squad.

With the discussions still ongoing over a potential deal for the Italy international, the outlet states ‘progress is expected’ in the negotiation between Newcastle and the Serie A side in the ‘coming days’.

The winger has two years left on his contract and it’s stated Eddie Howe’s side are ‘ready to offer’ €50m to the Old Lady to acquire his signature. Tutto Juve don’t specify Juventus’ current demands or if Chiesa is willing to join the Premier League side in this window.

Operating across all attacking positions last season, Chiesa managed four goals and six assists from 33 games.
